Rare! Tractate Beitza from the Lublin, 1620 Edition. - Rare! Tractate Beitza from Talmud Bavli, Yoffe press, Lublin, 1620. The Babylonian Talmud was printed in the printing house of Tzvi son of Avraham Klonimus Yoffe in Lublin during the years 1617-1628. These early years of the 17th century saw the first reprints of the Talmud after the decrees of the burning of the Talmud and all the tribulations that passed it, and after the reprint in Basel. The entire printing took 11 years, and tractate Beitza was completed in 1620. The National Library has exemplars of most volumes of this edition – but not of tractate Beitza! It is extremely rare. Missing title page. Pages 2 and 7 are damaged, and pgs. 3-6, 19,22, are missing. Dry, slightly brittle paper. New, handsome leather binding. Fair-good condition.
