Hundreds of Glosses from One of the Gedolim of Chabad-Lubatich On Yoreh De’ah Part II - Shulchan Aruch Yoreh De’ah part II – Zhitomir, 1842 – with hundreds of glosses, including hundreds of references and comments regarding practical Halacha, by a Chabad Rabbi in the mid-late 1800’s. Even someone who commits suicide R”L has a portion in the World to Come! On the title page is a stamp: “Alexander Yonah son of R”S Yudkowsky, Moreh Tzedek and Shochet in Temryuk”. On the sections of Hilchot Niddah, the commentor refers many times to the words of the Shulchan Aruch Harav and the Tzemach Tzedek of Lubavitch. On pg. 185/a is a long gloss on the Halachot of Bris Milah, in which he brings, at length, the opinions of the Chassam Sofer, the Chochmas Adam, and “the opinion of the Gaon Av Beis Din of Brisk, Rabbi Yaakov Meir (Padowa, passed away in 1855)… and the Tzemach Tzedek makes a compromise… thus wrote the Tzemach Tzedek later…” – from all this it is apparent that the glosses in this volume were made by an important Chabad Rabbi. In the Halachot of mourning, pg. 257/b, there is an interesting gloss where he references to the words of some poskim that “This which is commonly said that someone who takes his own life does not have a portion in the world to come – is not found in any source…” [2], 279 pp. 37cm. Stains. Extensive wear and light tearing on the title page and some others. Old binding. Overall good-fair condition.
