Letters from the Management of Yeshiva Sfas Emes – Ger - Two official letters from the presidium of Yeshiva Sfas Emes and the Rosh Yeshiva, the Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Chanoch Sankevich, member of Moetzes Gedolei Hatorah. ✵ Letter from the presidium of the Yeshiva to the district prefect, requesting that the Yeshiva’s buildings and real-estate be registered by the local British governor. The letter was written in 1939, signed by the illustrious Rabbi Chaim Elazar Alter, son of the holy Gaon of Pabianice, and the illustrious Rabbi Avraham Mordechai Alter, son of Rabbi Moshe Betzalel Alter, and later the father-in-law of the Pnei Menachem of Ger. Both of these grandsons of the Sfas Emes were the management of the Yeshiva for many years. ✵ Letter from the presidium of the Yeshiva to one of the donors, with thanks for his generous donations and for the collector who delivered the funds. The letter was sent in 1956, and is signed by Rabbi Chaim Elazar Alter, Rabbi Avraham Mottel Alter, and additionally here also signs the great Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Sankevich, Rosh Yeshiva Sfas Emes for many years, member of Moetzes Gedolei Hatorah, and author of Chiddushei HaGrich.
