Valance For a Parochet - Upper valance for an Ark curtain. Europe. Undated, ca. 1920. Embroidered with “The woman Kresel, wife of R’ Leibish Zigmunt”. Gold embroidery. Button markings and a 9cm. square Star of David in the center. Crown embroidered using extra-thick thread and gold sequins. Base cloth is red, with a green silk sash in the center. Remnants of buckles. Tears and wear. Significant scorching or wearing on the side edges. Fair condition.
