Printed by Shmuel Zanvil Kahana and his son-in-law, Munkacs, 1903. With the signature of Rabbi Reuven Chaim Klein, and the stamp of his brother-in-law Rabbi Shmuel Gross—sons-in-law of the holy Rabbi Yeshayale of Kerestir—as well as an ownership inscription by Rabbi Avraham Steiner. [2], 70 leaves. The holy Rabbi Avraham Steiner, ”Reb Avrahamele” (1883–1927) – son and successor of the holy Rabbi Yeshaya of Kerestir. Known as a wonder-worker and as the continuer of his father’s legacy of hospitality and acts of kindness. Less than two years into his leadership as Rebbe, Rabbi Avraham passed away and was buried beside his father. Rabbi Reuven Chaim ben Tzvi Dov Klein (1884–1942) – author of Shu”t Mateh Reuven, student of the Rav and Av Beit Din of Ujvar, Rabbi Netanel HaKohen Fried (author of Shu”t Pnei Meivin and Pnei Meivin on the Torah). He was close to the Rebbes of Munkacs—both the author of Darkei Teshuvah and his son the Minchat Elazar. He was the son-in-law of the holy tzaddik Rabbi Yeshaya Steiner of Kerestir (”Reb Yeshayale Kerestirer”), and for ten years lived in his home, devoting himself to Torah and divine service with great diligence. From 1912 he served as Av Beit Din of Sanina in eastern Slovakia, where he headed a yeshiva and taught Torah and Chassidut for around thirty years. He, his wife, his community, and his students were murdered al kiddush Hashem in a death camp near Lublin, HY”D. Rabbi Shmuel ben Raphael Gross (1888–1944) – student of his cousin, the holy Rabbi Chaim Tzvi Teitelbaum of Sighet. He was ordained by his uncle, the Rebbe Rabbi Chananya Yom Tov Lipa Teitelbaum (author of Kedushat Yom Tov), as well as by Rabbi Shlomo Tabak of Sighet and Rabbi Shmuel Engel of Radomyshl. After marrying the daughter of Rabbi Yeshayale of Kerestir, he lived in his father-in-law’s home for about 15 years. He served as Rav and Rosh Yeshiva in several communities in Hungary and Romania. During the Holocaust, he was deported to the ghettos of Carei and Satmar, and from there to Auschwitz. HY”D.
