Undated. “The only means of salvation would have been if the Jews residing in the country understood that they have nothing to do with a heretical and rebellious multitude that selects for itself a leadership with the intent to deny and rebel against God and His holy Torah” — a sharp draft composition by Rabbi Amram Blau against participation in the elections to the Knesset of the State of Israel, including criticism of the position held by certain Admorim, and Roshei Yeshiva. [5] thin paper leaves. A long manuscript in handwriting, apparently never printed. Includes deletions, corrections, and additions in handwriting. Rabbi Amram Blau (1900–1974), son of Rabbi Yitzchak Shlomo Blau, was renowned for his zealous devotion to Torah values and his many protests and demonstrations in defense of Shabbat, kashrut, modesty, and other causes in Jerusalem. He founded the group “Chevrat Chaim, ” later known as ''Neturei Karta''. As the leader of Neturei Karta, he maintained an uncompromising separatist stance, did not recognize the State of Israel, and refused government funding. He became widely known for organizing fierce protests against public Sabbath desecration, mixed swimming pools in Jerusalem, autopsies, and more. He was frequently arrested or beaten during these demonstrations. He authored the Sefer U'Malchut Tehapech leMinut, a halachic analysis opposing participation in Knesset elections — ”the Knesset of Heretics” that governs the state. Fold marks, light stains. Fair–good condition.
