Foundational Kabbalistic Sefer. Or Yisrael, Frankfurt, 1702 [תס”ב] – The only printed edition! - Foundational Sefer in Kabbalah. Or Yisrael, Frankfur, 1702 – Only Edition! Study of the secret of the Seder Atzilut, commentaries on the Zohar and the writings of the Ari, and teachings of Chazal according to Kabbalah, as well as Shulchan Aruch Orach Chaim rulings according to Kabbalah. Authored by the Gaon and Kabbalist Rabbi Yisrael Yoffe, Av Beit Din of Shklov. The Sefer was praised by the great sages and Kabbalists of the generations. Some claimed the book contained Sabbatean allusions, but the author strongly denied this in his will printed at the beginning of his Sefer Tiferet Yisrael (Frankfurt, 1774), stating that those ideas did not originate from him and that strangers had tampered with his writings. Nevertheless, his Sefer was endorsed by great Kabbalists and tzaddikim, among them the Gaon Rabbi Chaim Tzanz of Brody and Rabbi Aryeh Leib Epstein, author of Pardes. Rabbi Raphael Cohen of Hamburg wrote about the author that he was renowned for his greatness in Torah, piety, and asceticism. On leaf Zayin (which was printed about two weeks after the rest of the Sefer), appears an approbation by the renowned Kabbalist Rabbi Naftali Katz, author of Semichat Chachamim.
