Document Signed by Rabbi Dovid'l of Lelov and Rabbi Shmuel Salant - Bill of sale with the sacred signatures of the holy Rabbi David Zvi Shlomo Biederman of Lelov (Reb Dovid'l), the righteous Rabbi Shmuel Salant – the Ashkenazi Rabbi of Jerusalem, and the “Rishon LeZion” Rabbi Yaakov Shaul Elyashar. Certificate of sale for a residential house in the “Nachalat Yaakov” courtyard in Jerusalem, owned by the Kolel Warsaw, to a couple who committed that the apartment would return to the possession of the Kolel’s endowment after their passing. The deed details the Kolel's obligation to support them with a monthly payment during their lives, and to study and recite Kaddish for them after their deaths. The document is signed by three of the Kolel Warsaw’s rabbis, including the holy Rabbi David Zvi Shlomo Biederman of Lelov, Rabbi Yechiel Fishel [Linder], and Rabbi Shlomo Zalman ben Harav N., along with three witnesses confirming the rabbis’ signatures. Later, lines were drawn across the document and the note “this document is void” was added. The holy Rabbi David Zvi Shlomo Biederman , reverently known as “Reb Dovid'l” of Lelov, was born to his father the holy Rabbi Elazar Mendel and his grandfather the holy Rabbi Moshe of Lelov in 1844. At the age of six, he immigrated with them to Jerusalem. He became attached to the holy “Beit Aharon” of Karlin and became one of the great leaders of the community. In later years, the people of Jerusalem pleaded with him to continue the legacy of his holy ancestors and great father, and he agreed, establishing his Beit Midrash. He was revered by all the people of Jerusalem, even by non-Jews—Turks and other Arab residents of the city—who would come to him for monetary disputes and to request salvations. Blessings from his mouth did not return empty. He was among the trustees of Kolel Poland and oversaw the Biederman endowment in the Batei Warsaw neighborhood of Jerusalem.
