The Gaon and Kabbalist Rabbi Uziel Meislish (1744–1786), Av Beit Din of Ostrowiec, was a disciple of the Maggid of Mezeritch and a close associate of Rabbi Pinchas HaLevi Horowitz (Hafla’ah), Rabbi Elimelech of Lizhensk, and his brother Rabbi Zusha of Anipoli. He was one of the earliest disseminators of Chassidut in Poland. He authored many Sefarim including: Kerem Shlomo, Chotam Tahor, Menorah Tehorah, Etz HaDa’at Tov, Tiferet HaTzvi, and Tiferet Uziel.
