In his introduction to his son’s Sefer on Tractate Kinim, Rabbi Eliyahu Gutmacher of Grudziądz, the author’s father, writes of his great sorrow at his son’s passing and his consolation in the dissemination of his Torah, and also provides a Segulah for salvation: study Mishnah with the Peirush Ha'Rav and Tosfot Yomtov commentary and his son’s commentary, then pray for the beloved Israelites as Banim La'makom, reciting: 'במה שבראת בין הריבוי מיני עופות הכשרים יותר מטמאים... רק תורים ויונים בייתים להביא קרבן לפניך מהם ואנחנו דומים להם, עשה עימי חסד כרחם אב על בנו ויפרט מבוקשו שיהיה נענה' . In the Sefer's introduction, the Taddik of Grudziądz writes that the Segulah of studying this holy Sefer—together with his son’s commentary, Kan Mefurashet—is a Segulah for all forms of salvation.
