Haggadah Shel Pesach. Brno, 1784. Extremely rare. - Seder Haggadah Shel Pesach. Printed by Joseph Carl Neumann, Brno, 1784. Rare Haggadah. 40 leaves, with laws and instructions in Hebrew and Yiddish in Tzurat HaOtiyot script, and Yiddish translation of the hymns Echad Mi Yodea and Chad Gadya. Pasted to the reverse of the title page are papers with ownership inscriptions: “This old Pesach Haggadah was given to me by R’ Chaim Levi, ” “This was written by Levi Schiff, ” “Pressburg, ” “1877.” Otzar HaHaggadot 310. T his edition is not found in the National Library of Israel and is absent from the Israeli Union Catalog . The copy known to the Hebrew bibliography editors lacked several leaves in the middle, whereas the copy before us is complete. Only one other complete copy is known, housed at the JTS Library in New York. Rebound with gilt lettering. Stains, including wine stains, wormholes, minor tears, slight defects and damaged corners, several repairs. Fair–good condition.
