Levush, Prague edition, with hundreds of handwritten glosses from the 1640s - Sifrei Ha'Levushim on Even HaEzer and Choshen Mishpat in one volume – Prague 1609–1610 – third edition printed by the author – with hundreds of glosses in early Ashkenazic script from the 1640s, containing hundreds of sources and references to the words of the Levush. Sefer Levush HaButz VeArgaman on Even HaEzer (Prague 1609), together with Levush Ir Shushan on Choshen Mishpat (Prague 1610), by Rabbi Mordechai Yaffe, author of the Levushim. Most of the glosses present here contain exact references and sources for the words of Rabbi Mordechai Yaffe. Most are written concisely and succinctly, in the style of the Ba’er HaGolah on the Shulchan Aruch. A minority include explanatory notes and quotations from the early authorities. The majority of the glosses appear on the first dozens of simanim in Choshen Mishpat. 116; 210 leaves. 31 cm. Most pages in good condition. Large tear on the first title page. Stains. Original wooden binding covered in leather, damaged, partially detached.
