A letter from Rabbi Dovid Soloveitchik to his brother-in-law Rabbi Eliyahu Sternbuch of Antwerp. - Mazel Tov letter on a Shidduch with many blessings for an enduring home, in the handwriting of Maran the Gaon Rabbi Meshulam Dovid Soloveitchik, to his brother-in-law, the Gaon Rabbi Eliyahu Sternbuch, Av Beit Din of Antwerp and brother of the Rebbetzin, on the occasion of their daughter’s engagement. Jerusalem, 1977. In his letter, he blesses: ”Mazal tov, blessing and success, and may it be His will that this be a lasting bond, and they merit to build a faithful and splendid home..., and derive from them and all their offspring much Nachas and joy all their days. And may we merit to hear and be informed of only good news always.” The entire letter is, as noted, in his handwriting and signature. 8 Tevet 5737, Jerusalem. The great Gaon Rabbi Meshulam Dovid Soloveitchik [1922–2021], senior among the Roshei Yeshiva in his later years. Son of Maran the Gaavad of Brisk and faithful continuer of his path and conduct in delivering Shiurim, in halachic precision, and in opening his home and heart to every diligent student and seeker of the Torah of Brisk.
