Tikkunei Zohar of Maran the Sfas Emes of Gur - Sefer Tikkunei Zohar of the Holy Gaon, Author of Sfas Emes of Gur, Divided in His Own Handwriting for Forty Days of Study from Elul Through the Ten Days of Repentance – With the Signature of His Son-in-Law, the Righteous Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Meir Biderman On the inner side of the front flyleaf appears the signature: “Yaakov Meir from the Holy Community of Gur, ” followed by a stamp: “From the estate of our father, our master and Rebbe, OBM.” On leaf 13/1, at the beginning of the second (shorter) introduction to Tikkunei Zohar, it is written in the handwriting of the Sfas Emes: “For Rosh Chodesh, Day 1,” and before Tikkuna Kadma’ah is written: “For Day 2.” In this way, the entire Tikkunei Zohar is divided over forty days, with the final marking appearing on leaf 145/1: “For Yom Kippur.” The Sfas Emes dedicated much study to Tikkunei Zohar, and in 1939 all his commentaries on the Tikkunim were published in a separate volume titled Sfas Emes on Tikkunei Zohar. This volume shows that he practiced the Chassidic custom of completing the entire Tikkunei Zohar from Rosh Chodesh Elul through Yom Kippur. At the end of the Sefer appears another inscription: “Given to me as a gift by my beloved friend, the esteemed rabbi, distinguished scholar and notable, the honorable Meir son of Rabbi Menachem Klimanovitz from the holy community of Krashnevitsh — the s. Yaakov […] son of Rabbi […] Strikov.” The present exampler lacks a title page, and the place and year of printing are unknown. It was printed based on the Mantua 1558 edition, with additions of Derech Emes glosses. Incomplete copy. [1], 2–146, [1] leaves. 18 cm. Condition: Fair. Stains, heavy wear.
