Lechem Setarim – With Signatures and Glosses of the Divine Kabbalist, the Holy Rashash - A Rare Revelation! Sefer Lechem Setarim on Tractate Avodah Zarah by Rabbi Nissim Shlomo Algazi – Venice, 1664 – With Signatures and Glosses in the Holy Handwriting of the Divine Kabbalist Rabbi Shalom Mizrachi Sharabi, the Holy Rashash, and His Son Rabbi Chizkiyah Yitzchak Sharabi On leaf 4/1 appears the signature of the Rashash, OBM: “Shalom Mizrachi Sharabi, H”Y.” On leaves 6/1 and 9/1 appear signatures of his son, Rabbi Chizkiyah Yitzchak Sharabi. It is known that Rabbi Chaim Palagi wrote (in Shu”t Lev Chaim, II, §95) about “the greatness of the Torah knowledge of Rabbi Maharash [Sharabi] in the revealed realm, ” but until now there was no known documentation of the Rashash’s engagement in the revealed areas of Torah. In this volume, we see for the first time glosses from the Rashash and his son on a tractate of the Talmud. Rabbi Shalom Mizrachi Sharabi – the Holy Rashash (1720–1777) was a holy and awe-inspiring man of God, among the greatest transmitters and interpreters of the teachings of the Arizal. He was one of the deepest thinkers and innovators in the comprehension of Kabbalistic writings. It is well known from both oral and written sources that the Rashash merited revelations of Eliyahu HaNavi. Rabbi Chaim Palagi, in his Lev Chaim, records a tradition that the promise made by the Arizal upon his passing — that if the generation were worthy, he would return again — was fulfilled through the appearance of the soul and Torah of our master, the Rashash, may his merit protect us.
