Nine leaves (18 written pages), written on both sides in fine Sephardic script, entirely in the holy handwriting of the author of Kaf HaChayim. The manuscript is clear and includes corrections and additions by the author. These Derashot were published in Yismach Yisroel, but the final page — which contains sources from Chazal on the virtue of the Mitzvah of charity — was not printed. There are also differences in paragraph placement compared to the printed version. The holy Gaon and Kabbalist Rabbi Yaakov Chaim Sofer, author of Kaf HaChayim (1870–1939), was a disciple of the luminaries of Torah in Babylon — Rabbi Abdallah Somekh and Rabbeinu Yosef Chaim, author of Ben Ish Chai, who ordained him for rabbinic leadership. He also served as a scribe of sacred writings. After immigrating to Eretz Yisrael, he immersed himself in Torah study at the Shoshanim LeDavid synagogue in the Old City, where he wrote his Sefarim — many of which became foundational works of Halachic literature. Numerous miracles occurred through him and the power of his blessings. No binding. Light stains. Minor edge wear on some leaves. Good condition.
