Blessings from the Holy Rabbi Avraham Elimelech of Karlin - Rare! Receipt and Blessing for a Donor, from the Holy Rabbi Avraham Elimelech of Karlin “May it be His will that he be blessed from the Source of Blessings, with blessing and success in all his endeavors, and that all the desires of his heart be fulfilled for the good.” A letter of receipt for charity and blessings to the generous donor, signed by the Holy Rabbi Avraham Elimelech of Karlin. [1] Leaf. The content of the letter is pre-printed with a stamp; the donor’s details and donation amount were added by hand. At the top appears the stamp of the holy Rabbi: “Avraham Elimelech Perlow, Karlin, Karlinska '53,” and at the bottom is the holy handwritten signature of the Rebbe of Karlin. The receipt confirms the donation of 50 grush from R. Alter Ben Reb Leibush Cohen, delivered via the Chassid R. Ephraim Sofer. It is possible that the handwritten line was written by the Rebbe himself. The Holy Rabbi Avraham Elimelech Perlow, HY”D (1892–1943) – Son of the holy “Yanuka, ” Rabbi Yisroel of Stolin. After his father's passing, he served as Rebbe in Karlin for the multitudes of Karlin-Stolin Chassidim. Rabbi Avraham Elimelech visited the Land of Israel four times. During his last visit, he prayed at the graves of the forefathers, the Western Wall, and the graves of Tzaddikim, attempting to arouse mercy in Heaven and annul the severe decrees approaching the Jewish people. Three days before the outbreak of World War II, he hurried back to Karlin to be with his Chassidim in their time of trouble. Under Soviet rule, he continued to lead them underground, with self-sacrifice. After the Nazis occupied the city and expelled the Jews of Karlin to the Pinsk Ghetto, he continued to encourage his fellow Jews until he was killed on Kiddush Hashem. In 1962, his work Kuntres Pnei Elimelech was published within Yalkut Divrei Aharon. Filing holes, fold mark. Good condition.
