Rabbi David Blacher (Blyacher), HY”D – A distinguished student of Rabbi Yosef Yozel Horowitz zt”l, the “Alter of Novardok.” After his Rebbe's passing, Rabbi David moved to Mezeritch (Międzyrzec Podlaski), Poland, where he founded a network of Mussar yeshivot, Beit Yosef, in Mezeritch and other locations throughout Poland. At the outbreak of World War II, the Germans occupied Mezeritch, and Rabbi David fled with some of his students to Brisk, which was under Soviet control. Shortly afterward, he returned to his city and, at great personal risk, continued teaching his students in underground yeshivot scattered across the town. He was murdered together with his community and students on the 25th of Iyar, 5702 (1942), in an extermination camp. In 1970, his Mussar talks were collected and published under the title Divrei Bina U'Mussar. Stains, filing holes. Good condition.
