Letter from the leaders of the Sharshov community to Maran the Chafetz Chaim – regarding matters of charity – 1925 - Letter from the leaders of the Sharshov (Lithuania) community to Maran the Chafetz Chaim – inquiry regarding charity matters – Kislev 1925. The letter before us concerns a fundraising campaign conducted by the Vaad HaYeshivot with the assistance of the community heads of Sharshov. After the campaign, a misunderstanding arose among the organizers as to whether all the funds were intended solely for the needs of the Vaad HaYeshivot, or whether a portion was designated for the local Talmud Torah. In the letter, they ask Maran the Chafetz Chaim to decide how the donated charity funds should be used.
