Postcard from the Gaon Rabbi Eliezer Zusman Sofer, Av Beit Din of Halas and Paks, to the rabbi of the village Hadeas in Tolna County. Halas, Hungary, 1881. “And I shall conclude with a blessing for next year in Jerusalem” – postcard in the handwriting and with the signature of Rabbi Zusman Sofer. Halas, [Nissan 1881]. The Gaon Rabbi Eliezer Zusman, son of Rabbi Mordechai Ephraim Fishel Sofer, Av Beit Din of Paks (1830–1902) – exalted holy Tzaddik, studied in the yeshivot of Pressburg and Bonyhád. Served as Av Beit Din of Halas, Mészöly, and Derecske, and was among the great rabbis of Hungary. In his youth, he studied under Maran the Chasam Sofer in his final years, and later became one of the prominent disciples of the Ksav Sofer and the Maharam Schick. Son-in-law and successor of Rabbi Yoel Ungar, Av Beit Din of Paks. Author of Yalkut Sofer, Likutei Sofer, Yalkut Eliezer, and others. Fold mark and small tear. Good condition.
