Manuscript – Chabad “Bichel” – Transcriptions of Maamarim from the First Three Chabad Rebbes: The Alter Rebbe, His Son the Mitteler Rebbe, and the Tzemach Tzedek of Lubavitch – Before 1866 On leaf 19/1 there is a Maamar on the Zohar, Dibbur HaMatchil ”אשישא עייל חמרא תפוח אפיק חמרא”, spanning 4 pages. The Maamar appears in the style of the Alter Rebbe (apparently from the early years of his leadership). In his Sefer Biurei HaZohar, a Maamar from the Alter Rebbe on this passage of the Zohar was printed; however, the content there is entirely different from what appears before us. These are two distinct Maamarim. It is possible that in the Bichel before us, there are additional Maamarim that were never printed. At the end of the Bichel are copied two of the famous letters of the Mitteler Rebbe (the latter of which is the well-known description of the flight of his father, the Alter Rebbe, from the Napoleonic invasion during the last half year of his life). On leaf 70/1 there is the heading:  'תורת אדמו”ר מ”מ [=מנחם מנדל] שיחי On the first two leaves of the Bichel, there is an index to all the Maamarim copied in this Bichel. [2], 102 leaves. 18 cm.
