Sefer Sfas Emes on the Torah (Gur) – Piotrków–Kraków, 1905–1908 – First Edition – Four of Five Parts – Three Volumes – filled with hundreds of important glosses in the handwriting of his disciple Rabbi Alexander Sender Gedalyahu Tkursh, shochet of Włocławek. Sefer Sfas Emes on the Five Books of the Torah, by the Admor, the holy Gaon Rabbi Yehudah Aryeh Leib Alter of Gur. Piotrków–Kraków, 1905–1908. First Edition. Four of five parts (without Shemot), in three volumes. On the flyleaves appear the signatures:  ”אלכסנדר סנדר גדליהו טכורש שו”ב דק”ק וולאצלאוועק” Throughout the volumes are written hundreds of glosses, the majority consisting of citations and references to Tanach, Talmud, and Midrash. One gloss is signed at its conclusion: ”סנדר” Rabbi Alexander Sender Gedalyahu Tkursh, the shochet of Włocławek (1860–1949), was renowned as an expert among experts in the field of shechitah. He was a great scholar and innovator in the laws of shechitah, treifot, and examination of the lung, authoring several works on the subject, the best known being Atarat Chen in two volumes. He also composed works on halachah and aggadah and published prolifically in Torah journals in Poland. “He was a fervent Chassid of Gur, who visited many times each year the Sfas Emes z”l, to whom he was bound with deep attachment” (Wloclawek VeHaSviva – Sefer Zikaron, p. 537). In 1924, he immigrated to Eretz Yisrael, where he continued his holy work in shechitah and authoring his sefarim. Bereshit: 142 leaves. Vayikra–Bamidbar: 107, [1], 101 leaves.
