'כי באו מים וכו' ואין מעמד' – letter in the holy handwriting and with the signature of Maran the Steipler, to the administration of Vaad HaYeshivot in Vilna. Pinsk, 1931. [1] Postcard, stamped and signed, in the holy handwriting of Rabbi Yaakov Yisrael Kanievsky, with his signature. With stamps of Vaad HaYeshivot confirming receipt of the request and its completion. The great Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Yisrael Kanievsky (1899–1985) – the Kehillot Yaakov, one of the Gedolei HaDor, revered and sanctified in his generation as one with Ruach HaKodesh, whose every word was fulfilled. He was the close brother-in-law of Maran the Chazon Ish. Named after the holy Admor Rabbi Yaakov Yisrael of Cherkasy, as his family were Chassidim of the Hornosteipel dynasty. Author of Shaarei Tevunah, Kehillot Yaakov, and other works. Rosh Yeshivat “Beit Yosef” and President of Kollel Chazon Ish in Bnei Brak. Affectionately called “the Steipler” after his birthplace and town of origin. In his later years, he was among the foremost leaders of the Torah world. Succeeded by his son, the great Gaon Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky. Filing holes, very good condition.
