Letter by the Gaon Rabbi Shimon Shkop, with his handwritten signature, to the administration of “Vaad HaYeshivot” in Vilna, regarding the difficult situation of the Yeshiva – Grodno, Sivan 1937. The letter is typewritten, with the handwritten signature of Rabbi “Shimon Yehuda HaKohen Shkop, ” and stamped with the seal of “Yeshivat Shaar HaTorah, Horodna.” The letter is written on the official stationery of Rabbi Shkop. At the end of his letter, Rabbi Shkop notes that the situation of the Yeshiva worsened especially after the passing of “the captain of the Yeshiva, the Gaon Rabbi Shragah Feivel z”l” – referring to Rabbi Shraga Feivel Hindes, Rabbi Shkop’s son-in-law, who was the financial director of the Yeshiva and had passed away a year earlier, on 13 Av 1936.
