Letter of Blessing in the Handwriting of the Admor Rabbi Meshulam Zusia Twersky of Chernobyl – Sent to His Relative, the Admor Rabbi Shalom Yechezkel Shraga Rubin-Halberstam of Chechnov-Brooklyn – Kislev 1961 ”לנכון קבלתי את יקרת מכתבו בברכת מזל טוב לנשואי בני שיחי” – The Admor of Chernobyl Shlit”a. ”שפע ברכה והצלחה ותזכו לשמחת בניכם שיחי' מתוך נחת והרחבת הדעת” The Admor Rabbi Meshulam Zusia Twersky of Liav-Chernobyl (1910–1988), a scion of a distinguished lineage of great tzaddikim: on his father’s side, he descended from the dynasty of Chernobyl, and on his mother’s side from the dynasties of Sanz and Belz. His mother was the daughter of Rabbi Yitzchak Yeshayah Halberstam of Tchechov, son of the Divrei Chaim of Sanz, and a great-granddaughter of Rabbi Yehoshua of Belz. In 1934, he immigrated to the Holy Land, studying for two years in Jerusalem at Yeshivat ”Merkaz HaRav.” In 1936, he traveled for three years to Poland to be in the presence of his grandfather, Rabbi Yeshayah of Tchechov. In 1939, he returned to Jerusalem and married the daughter of the Admor of Stratyn. After the Holocaust, he was crowned Admor of Chernobyl. In his leadership, he combined the customs and traditions of Sanz received from his great-grandfather, and many of the chassidim of Sanz-Tchechov accepted his authority. In 1959, he moved to Bnei Brak, where he established the Beit Midrash of Sanz Chassidus. After the arrival of the Admor of Sanz-Klausenberg, author of Shefa Chaim, to the Land of Israel, Rabbi Meshulam Zusia, in his humility, handed over the Beit Midrash he had founded, transferring its leadership to the Admor of Klausenberg. His sons are the present Admorim of Chernobyl, and his well-known son-in-law is the Admor of Vizhnitz, Rabbi Yisrael Hager Shlit”a. Air-mail letter. 28 cm. Good condition.
