Ferrara, Elul of the year ‘Zeh HaSha’ar’ [5587 / 1827]. [1] leaf, thick paper, written in Hebrew script of the Italian–Jewish style. At the top of the page appears an explanation of the circumstances of the poem’s composition for the dedication of the renovated Ashkenazi synagogue in Ferrara, describing the installation of “precious stones, hewn stones, ” the reconstruction of the staircase, renewal of “the hangings of the house all around, ” and the refurbishing of benches and windows. In addition, there are instructions for the public participating in the synagogue dedication ceremony on how to recite the piyyut. A rare piyyut, not found in the collections of the National Library of Israel. Fold marks, stains, a few tiny holes. Good condition.
