Letter of Invitation for the Beginning of the Writing of a Sefer Torah in Memory of the Kedoshim of the Holocaust, Signed by the Holy Rebbes Rabbi Mordechai Shlomo Friedman of Boyan and Rabbi Yisrael Shapira of Bluzhov – Sent to Rabbi Yaakov Rosenheim, President of Agudas Yisroel – Marcheshvan 1946. In this letter, the Rebbes describe the initiative: “This plan for writing a Sefer Torah and dedicating its letters in remembrance of the names of the Kedoshim was conceived by one of the holy ones just moments before his sacred soul departed in the internment camp.
