Manuscript – Complete Work, Sefer Teomei Tzviyah, Chiddushim on Several Tractates, in the Holy Handwriting of the Author, the Holy Gaon Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Broyde, Av Beis Din of Semonitz and Kitze – Hundreds of Large Leaves in the Author’s Handwriting!  Chiddushim on the Three Bavos (Bava Kama, Bava Metzia, Bava Batra), and on Tractates Shevuos, Avodah Zarah, Chullin, and Niddah. The holy Gaon Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Broyde, Av Beis Din of Semonitz and Kitze (passed away 1822), was one of the great rabbis of his generation, highly revered by the leading sages of his time — the Noda BiYehuda, the Chasam Sofer, Rabbi Akiva Eiger, and the Maharam Bennet. His first rabbinic position was in Semonitz, his father-in-law’s town, and from 1780 he served as Av Beis Din and Rosh Metivta in Kitze (one of the famous “Seven Communities”). There, he established a renowned yeshiva and taught multitudes of disciples. The Chasam Sofer, in his approbation to Rabbi Broyde’s Sefer Teomei Tzviyah on Even HaEzer, extols him with great admiration: הרב המאור הגאון הגדול כבוד מה”ו צבי הרש זצ”ל שהיה אב”ד ור”מ בק”ק קיצע, מעודו למד ורבץ ועשה חיילים לתורה ולתעודה, והעמיד תלמידים הרבה, וגם עד זקנה ושיבה עד זיבולא בתריתא לא פסק פומא מגירסא... חבורו מסודר... ועיני ראו כי ממש לא הניח דבר קטן ודבר גדול שלא שם עינו עליו... וספר זה לע”ד יהיה מרוצה לעם ה' יתענגו בו גדולים... גם ימצאו בו חידושים מתוקים ודברים חריפים לעורר הלבבות לירד לעומק הענין...  The Noda BiYehuda wrote to him: ”ואולי גלוי לפניו תשובות האחרונים יותר מאשר גלויים לי”. And Rabbi Meir Mintz praised him: האי סבא קדישא... אשר רבים יביעו תהלתו כי מלאה הארץ דעה מחריצותו ומבקיאותו בכל חדרי הש”ס ומשכיות רבותינו הפוסקים ז”ל  Besides his immense scholarship, he was known for his holiness and purity, especially for his extraordinary guarding of the eyes. Upon his passing, the Chasam Sofer himself attended the funeral with all his students and eulogized him, concluding: נשים על לבנו מיתת צדיק הזה שהיה יושב בקהילה זו... ועסק יום ולילה בתורת ה', וזכותו יגן עלינו ובעד כל ישראל”. השאיר אחריו כמה חיבורים בעומק העיון, ונדפסו לאחר הסתלקותו He left behind several works of deep Talmudic analysis, published posthumously. The manuscript before us was first printed in 2005 under the title Teomei Tzviyah Al Sugyot HaShas, edited by Rabbi Shmuel David HaCohen Friedman (Brooklyn).
