She’elot U’Teshuvot Imrei Esh, by the Gaon Rabbi Meir Eisenstädter, Av Beis Din (Mahara”m Ash) – two parts in one volume – Lemberg 1852; Ungvár 1864 – first edition – the exampler of the Gaon Rabbi Elazar Lew, Av Beis Din of Ohel and Ungvár, author of Pekudat Elazar. First part, on Orach Chaim and Yoreh De’ah, printed in Lemberg in 1852. Second part, on Even HaEzer and Choshen Mishpat, printed in Ungvár in 1864. Signatures on the title pages of both parts: of HaGaon Rabbi Elazar Lew ben HaGaon Rabbi Yirmiyah, and HaGaon Rabbi Shimon Ehrenfeld, Av Beis Din of Sani. HaGaon Rabbi Elazar Lew (1839–1918), author of Pekudat Elazar, son of Rabbi Yirmiyah Lew (Av Beis Din of Ohel, author of Divrei Yirmiyah). One of the great Orthodox rabbis of northern Hungary. Succeeded his father from 1874. From 1888, he served as Av Beis Din of Ungvár. HaGaon Rabbi Shimon Ehrenfeld (c. 1856–1931), son of HaGaon Rabbi David Tzvi Ehrenfeld, son-in-law of Maran the Chasam Sofer. As a child, he lost his father and was raised in the home of his grandfather, Maran the Ktav Sofer, and by his uncle, the Chasan Sofer. From 1884, he served as Av Beis Din of Sani, and from 1894 as Av Beis Din of Mihalovce. Editor of the journal Sha’arei Tzion and chairman of the first assembly of the Central Orthodox Office in Czechoslovakia. Worm traces at the margins of the first 15 leaves. Stains. Original binding.
