On the title page of She’elot U’Teshuvot Rabbeinu Yaakov m'Smila appears the signature of Rabbi ”אלעזר ליפשיץ מאלכסנדר” On the title pages of the other Sefarim appear ownership inscriptions of: ”ר' אלעזר ליפשיץ חתן הה”ק אדומ”ר זצלה”ה זי”ע מאלכסנדר” Among the leaves lies a kvitel listing names for prayer and blessing. At its top appears the name of the city Łódź. Rabbi Elazar Lifshitz , son of Rabbi Yitzchak Aryeh, was one of the prominent Dayanim of Łódź. Son-in-law of the famed holy Rabbi Yechiel Danziger, the first Admor of Alexander, and one of the great men of that Chassidic court.
