A handwritten letter by the Rav of Galanta A heartfelt letter of recommendation, great in quantity and quality, in the handwriting of the righteous Gaon Rabbi Yehoshua Buxbaum, Av Beis Din and Rosh Metivta of Galanta HY”D – sent to the administration of the Yeshivah “Heichal HaTalmud” in Tel Aviv, on behalf of his student, the Bachur Aharon Deitsch – Galanta, 1939. The righteous Gaon Rabbi Yehoshua Buxbaum, Av Beis Din of Galanta (1877–1944), was among the great sages of the generation. He was a disciple of the Dayan of Papa, the Be’er Shmuel, and the Levushai Mordechai, the “Madar Rav.” He supported Agudath Israel and was among its prominent leaders in Hungary. He perished in the Holocaust together with all the members of his holy community, despite receiving an initial approval from the Nazis for his release, together with his family. [1] leaf. 34 cm.
