The holy Gaon Rabbi Eliezer Dovid Greenwald, author of Keren LeDavid (1867–1928), Rav of Satmar and Rosh Yeshiva of the great Yeshiva there. He studied Torah with his brother, the holy Gaon author of Arugas HaBosem, and was regarded as his foremost disciple. For a short time he also studied with the holy Gaon, the Chasan Sofer. He served as Rav of the communities of Tzehel, Ober-Vishava, and Satmar. Among the most renowned Gedolei Yisrael of his generation, and Rav and Rosh Yeshiva of the largest Yeshiva in the surrounding regions.
