The Chiddushim presented here were printed in his work Givat Shaul (New York, 2014), vol. I, pp. 310–317. HaGaon Rabbi Shaul Ben Reb David Tzvi Ehrenfeld (1839–1905), grandson of Meran the Chasam (Brother of the Chasan Sofer), was a beloved and outstanding disciple of his uncle, the Ksav Sofer. From 1868 to 1877 he served as Rav of Szikszó, where he led a large Yeshiva and maintained Halachic correspondence with the Gedolei Yisrael of his generation. It is related that after learning with him and being impressed by his greatness, the Divrei Chaim remarked: “These are the holy grandchildren of the Chasam Sofer.” It is further related that the holy Rabbi Yehoshua of Shinova said of his sanctity: “The Rav of Szikszó does not need a Mikvah—he himself is a Mikvah.” In 2014 his major Chiddushim and analytical works were first published in two volumes under the title Givat Shaul. No binding. Spine frayed at the foot of the leaves. Very minor edge tears. Light staining. Good condition.
