(Deuteronomy 33:3) ”....כל קדושיו בידך” A single sheet bearing the sacred handwritten signatures of the leading figures of Chassidut—holy luminaries, pillars of the generation—residing in Eretz Yisrael in 1945! Sixteen signatures of the foremost Tzaddikim of the generation! An impassioned public proclamation on behalf of the Vaad Taharas Hamishpacha, calling for assistance and donations toward the construction and repair of Mikvaos in Eretz Yisrael. ”Beloved brothers, rouse yourselves, all of you, and hasten as one man… to act and to mobilize, to donate and to inspire others to donate.” Among the signatories: Harav HaKadosh the Imrei Emes of Gur; Harav HaKadosh Rabbi Shlomke of Zvhil; Harav HaKadosh of Husiatyn; “the Rav of Bilgoray” signing on behalf of his brother Harav HaKadosh the Mahar”a of Belz; the Damesek Eliezer; the Admorim of Ruzhin and Rachmistrivka; and others—zy”a. Below is a translation of the proclamation, written from the depths of the hearts of the Tzaddikim and spiritual luminaries residing in Eretz Yisrael: “Whose heart would not rejoice to hear of the founding of the holy society, the ‘Vaad Taharas Hamishpacha, ’ whose sacred purpose is to strengthen the foundations of purity among Beis Yisrael in the Land of our Fathers. This society now approaches the task of establishing a financial fund for the construction of new Mikvaos and the improvement of existing ones. This important undertaking speaks for itself and testifies a hundredfold to its benefit. The entire significance of Am Yisrael rests upon holiness and purity. ‘You shall be holy, for I the Lord am holy’—and the foundation of purity and holiness is the sanctity of the formation of the child. Toward this sanctity, the society labors to instill it among the public through the construction of modern Mikvaos and the improvement of those already in existence. “And so, what shall we answer? Beloved brothers! Rouse yourselves, all of you, and hasten as one man—to act and to mobilize, to donate and to inspire donations. All the House of Israel as one, to assist those engaged in this sacred Mitzvah. And through the merit of holiness and purity it shall be fulfilled in us: ‘And I shall be sanctified among the Children of Israel’ (Leviticus 22:32), 'and when the Lord restores the captivity of His people, with song in Zion' (Psalms 126:1).” The document bears the signatures of all the leading Admorim—holy luminaries—residing in Eretz Yisrael in 1945, including Admorim of Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.
