Rare! From the library of Harav HaKadosh Rabbi Yechiel Meir Lipshitz of Gostynin, among the foremost disciples of the “Seraph of Kotzk” — the “Guter Yid of Gostynin.” Sefer Halachot Gedolot (the Baha”g — one of the greatest Rishonim, whose name is unknown). Vienna, 1811 — with the handwritten signature of Harav HaKadosh Rabbi Yechiel Meir Lipshitz of Gostynin, of whom his Rebbe, Harav HaKadosh of Kotzk, testified that he was one of the thirty-six hidden Tzaddikim of his generation. On the title page appears the signature of Harav HaKadosh of Gostynin: ”זה הספר שייך לי הק' יחיאל מאיר ליפשיץ בהמנוח מ' יעקב צבי זצ”ל” Further, on the title page appears the stamp of his son, Rabbi Yisrael Moshe: ”ישראל משה בהרב הק' מו' יחיאל מאיר זצללה”ה מגאסטאנין ליפשיטץ חופ”ק בלוינא” Harav HaKadosh Rabbi Yechiel Meir of Gostynin (d. 1888), was among the leading Tzaddikim of Poland, a disciple of Harav HaKadosh of Kutno, Rabbi Bunim of Peshischa, and Rabbi Menachem Mendel, the Seraph of Kotzk. He later became a disciple of Rabbi Avraham of Ciechanow, and after his passing began receiving Pitkaot and establishing his court. The Tzaddikim of the generation esteemed and valued him. He devoted himself to the recitation of Tehillim and was known as “Der Tehillim Yid” and also “Der Guter Yid.” His holy writings were printed in the Sefer Mei HaYam (Lodz, 1922). In the introduction, the publisher writes: “ It is already well known what the holy and pure Admor, the Rebbe of Kotzk zy”a, said of him in his youth—that he is one of the thirty-six Tzaddikim of the generation… and all the more so in his old age, as he continued to grow until he became exceedingly great in holiness and purity, in separation and humility.” 100 leaves. 37 cm.
