Postcard from the Holy Rebbe Rabbi Aharon of Belz — guidelines for the conduct of a child’s Chalakah - (the hair-cutting ceremony) upon reaching the age of three, in the name of his father, the Mahari”d of Belz — written during his father’s lifetime. Belz, winter 1913. Sent to the Admor Rabbi Menachem Binyamin Ben Tzion Halberstam of Wodislaw–New York. Never printed! ”ותפלת צדיק יעשה רושם... המברך בכל טוב הק' אהרן בהרב שליט”א מבעלזא” These are the words written by the Mahar”a in the name of his father, the Maharid: ”ב”ה אור ליום ב' דר”ח פה בעלז יע”א לכבוד ידידי ש”ב הנכבד מופלג בתורה וביראה שלשלת היוחסין מו”ה בנימין שליט”א אחדשה”ט. את מכתבך עם הפדיון ג' רו”כ הגיע לידי ונמסר ליד כ”ק אאמו”ר שליט”א, ותפלת צדיק יעשה פרי בכל הענינים לטובה. ואודות שאלתך, אמר, אשר ביום ד' ערב חנוכה יעשו פיאות לבינך היקר יחי', ובש”ק של חנוכה יחנכו לדבר עמו דברי קדושה, וביום א' שאחריו יתחיל לילך לבית הספר מנאי ש”ב המברך בכל טוב הק' אהרן בהרב שליט”א מבעלזא The final two lines, ”מנאי ש”ב... מבעלזא” are in His Holy Handwriting. The remainder of the postcard was apparently written in a scribe’s hand. On the reverse: the addressee’s name and a postal stamp dated 31.10.12. 13 cm. Good to fair condition. Stains.
