Manuscript, Chabad “Bichel” — copies of discourses by the first three Chabad Admorim: the Alter Rebbe, his son the Mitteler Rebbe, and the Tzemach Tzedek of Lubavitch — including an unpublished discourse by the Alter Rebbe on the Zohar . Prior to 1866. On leaf 19/1 is a discourse on the Zohar, beginning “Ashisa Ayil Chamra, Tapuach Apik Chamra, ” comprising 4 pages. The discourse appears in the style of the Alter Rebbe (apparently from the early years of his leadership). In Biurei HaZohar, a discourse by the Alter Rebbe was printed on this Zohar passage, but its content is entirely different from the present text; these are two distinct discourses. It is possible that the present Bichel contains additional discourses that were never printed. At the end of the Bichel, two of the well-known letters of the Mitteler Rebbe were copied (the latter being the famous account of the Alter Rebbe’s flight from Napoleon’s conquest in the final half-year of his life). On leaf 70/1 appears the heading: ”תורת אדמו”ר מ”מ [=מנחם מנדל] שיחי' On the first two leaves of the Bichel appears an index to all the discourses copied in this Bichel. [2], 102 leaves. Fair condition. Worm marks. Stains. Tears and wear to several leaves. New binding.
