From the Library of HaGaon HaKadosh Rabbi Moshe Dovid Ashkenazi, Av Beis Din of Tolchva and Tzfas, Author of Toldos Adam Sefer Tzeror HaMor, Derashos and explanations on the Torah according to the method of Pardes, by Rabbi Avraham Saba – Krakow, 1595. On one of the leaves, a missing section was completed in a fine manuscript hand. Ownership inscription on the title page: קניתי הס' הק' הזה מ[...] הרב הג' מטאלשיב ז”ל בעד ח”י גראש – הק' יהודא ליב בהר”ר אפרים פישל ז”ל מעיה”ק טברי' תוב”א On leaves 24/1 and 96/2 appear ownership inscriptions of the Beis Midrash of the Chassidim of the author of Toras Chaim of Kosiv: ”לביהמ”ד אדמו”ר אור החיים מקאסיב זצ”ל מעיה”ק צפת” A large tear across the entire width of leaf 47; the missing half was completed in a fine manuscript hand [possibly by the Rabbi of Tolchva]. The renowned Harav HaKadosh Rabbi Moshe Dovid Ben Reb Asher Anshel Ashkenazi of Tolchva (1774–1856) served as Av Beis Din of Tolchva for forty years. In 1843 he immigrated to Eretz Yisrael and served as Rav and Raavad of the holy city of Tzfas. Author of the Sefarim Toldos Adam on the Shas and Be’er Sheva on the Torah. Father-in-law of Harav HaKadosh the Yitav Lev of Sighet. The Tzaddikim of the generations greatly praised his stature, took pride in their lineage from him, and studied extensively his Torah teachings written Lishmah. 168, [1] leaves. 27 cm.
