Shtar Tena’im of the Engagement of the Daughter of HaGaon HaTzaddik Rabbi Leib Amrich, among the Leading Disciples of Harav HaKadosh Rabbi Nosson Adler – with the Signatures of Rabbi Leib Amrich. Frankfurt am Main, Tammuz 1799–1800. The present Shtar Tena’im was written and signed on Wednesday, 14 Tammuz 1799, with additions and amendments added on Sunday, 20 Tammuz 1800. The second signatory on the present Shtar Tena’im is the father of the bride: ”הק' יהודה ליבלאא”מ המנוח כהר”ר גומפיל עמריך זצ”ל” HaGaon HaTzaddik Rabbi Leib Amrich (d. Kislev 1817) was a Chassid and righteous man of perfect integrity, among the foremost and distinguished disciples of Harav HaKadosh Rabbi Nosson Adler. Little information about him survives beyond what is recorded on his tombstone and in the Yizkor book of the community of Frankfurt:” ... שלום במעשיו תמים בדרכיו, יהודה גבר באחיו בחסידות ופרישות בדקדוקי מצוות וסיגופים וטבילות, ענה בצום נפשו בהפסקות משבת לשבת, רוב ימיו עסק בתורה וגמ”ח”; ”ולא חיסר מרבותיו כלום, כל מעשיו לשם שמים... אשרי משכיל אל דל... שמש צדקה ומרפא, הרופא לשבורי לב להחיות לב נדכאים... הכה את הארי ביום השלג ורחץ במים וטהר גברא... עבר תמיד ממקום למקום הלך בדרך מרחקים להיות מוהל” During his lifetime he circumcised close to twelve hundred children. Rabbi Leib merited to be present at the moment of “Ashkavta DeRebbi, ” at the time of the passing of his Rebbe, and he was the last to exchange several words with him before his passing. After the passing of his Rebbe in 1800, Rabbi Leib was appointed responsible for conducting the prayers in his Rebbe's Beis Midrash, with all the customs and distinctive practices of that Beis Midrash, until his own passing in 1817.
