The Rabbi and the Talmud Large leaf, two pages, in the His Holy Handwriting of the Gaon Rabbi Yehuda Leib Fischels–Bumsla, Raavad of Prague, and of his foremost disciple Rabbi Betzalel Rensburg – Chiddushim on Tractate Pesachim on the Sugya of “Rabbi Chanina Segan HaKohanim” – Never Printed – before 1808. On the first page, approximately 42 lines in the handwriting of the Gaon Rabbi Leib Fischels, Raavad of Prague. On the second page, approximately 20 lines in the handwriting of his foremost disciple, the Gaon Rabbi Betzalel Rensburg. On the reverse are several words in Yiddish and in Latin in the handwriting of Rabbi Betzalel Rensburg. The Gaon Rabbi Leib (d. on the eve of the seventh day of Pesach 1808) was the son of the renowned Gaon Rabbi Meir Fischels (Bumsla), Raavad of Prague and Rosh Yeshiva in Prague (1703–1770). His son Rabbi Leib led the Prague Yeshiva for approximately forty years and established many disciples there, the most prominent among them being the Gaon Rabbi Betzalel Rensburg and Rabbi Elazar Fleckeles, author of Teshuvah Me’Ahavah. By Rabbi Leib, Torah and greatnesswere united at his table, and he supported all the students of his Yeshiva from his private funds. His disciple Rabbi Betzalel Rensburg wrote about his Rebbe: אשר האציל מזיו קדשו וחכמתו עלי מורי ורבי המובהק כבוד הרב המאה”ג המפורסם, נר ישראל, עמוד הימני, פטיש החזק, זקן ויושב בישיבה זה יותר מארבעים שנה, מוהר”ר ליב פישלס נ”י... רובי תורתי ממנו הם... כל דבריו בצדק ובמישור על קו השכל האמיתי בנויים...
