Rabbinic Ordination for Rabbi Pesach Kukis by HaGaon Rabbi Moshe Mordechai Epstein, with a Copy of a Letter Recommending His Appointment as Rabbi of the Beit Vegan Neighborhood – Jerusalem, 1933 [2] letters by HaGaon Rabbi Moshe Mordechai Epstein, Rosh Yeshiva of Chevron Yeshiva “Knesses Yisrael” in Jerusalem, containing words of ordination and recommendation. This letter was printed in the Sefer Birkat Pesach (Jerusalem, 2010), p. 29. Fold marks, stains. Rabbi Pesach Ben Reb Ze’ev Kukis (1903–1981) – President of the Bat Yam Yeshiva and Chief Rabbi of Bat Yam for more than forty years, son-in-law of the renowned Jerusalem scholar Rabbi Rafael Katzenelnbogen. A student of Knesses Beis Yitzchak, he immigrated to Eretz Yisrael in 1925, studied at Beis Yosef Yeshiva in Chevron, and survived the terrible massacre of the 1929 riots. In 1930, he was among the founders of Heichal HaTalmud Yeshiva in Tel Aviv. He served as Rabbi of Bat Yam from its founding. His biography appears in the Sefer Birkat HaPesach.
