Receipt Signed by the “Saba, ” Rabbi Yisrael Dov Odesser. Jerusalem, 1968 Receipt for a medical assistance payment from the fund of the Vaad Kollel Volhynia in Jerusalem, issued to the “Saba, ” the well-known Chassid Rabbi Yisrael Dov Odesser, among the elders of the Breslov Chassidim in the previous generation and leader of the “Na Nach” community, with his handwritten signature. [1] receipt – including payment instruction to the fund and attached stub. The “Saba, ” Rabbi Yisrael Dov (Ber) Odesser (1886–1994) – born in Tzfas to a family of Karlin Chassidim. In his youth he drew close to Breslov Chassidus and became a disciple of Rabbi Yisrael Karduner and other elders of the Breslov Chassidim. He became widely known late in his life following the mysterious letter written on a note containing the phrase “Na Nach Nachma Nachman M'Uman, ” and is known as “the Saba Baal HaPetek.” Very good condition.
