With ownership signatures of Rabbi Naftali HaKohen Schwartz and Rabbi Chaim Elimelech Appel, with a presentation inscription from Rabbi Shmuel HaKohen Schwartz to Rabbi Chaim Elimelech Appel, and with the signature of Reb 'מאיר אברהם וויעבנער' HaGaon Rabbi Naftali HaKohen Schwartz (1846–1896) – Av Beis Din of Mad, author of Beis Naftali, son of HaGaon HaKadosh author of Kol Aryeh. His sons were Rabbanim and Torah leaders who disseminated Torah throughout Hungary until their murder in Auschwitz in 1944, including: Rabbi Yosef of Grosswardein, editor of Vayelaket Yosef; Rabbi Pinchas Zelig of Kleinwardein, editor of Or Torah; Rabbi Shmuel HY”D of Satmar, editor of Leket Shoshanah; Rabbi Avraham Yehuda, editor of Pnei HaNesher; and Rabbi Menachem Yeshaya, Maggid Meisharim in Klausenburg. Rabbi Shmuel Ben Reb Naftali HaKohen Schwartz HY”D (1889–1944) – disciple of HaGaon Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Ehrenreich, Av Beis Din of Shamloy. A great Torah scholar and G-d-fearing from his youth, he served as a Rav and preacher in the society “Zichron Yehuda” in Satmar. He edited the journal Leket Shoshanah from 1934 and authored Toldos Geonei HaGra (1911) and Pnei HaMayim (1939). Murdered Al Kiddush Hashem in Auschwitz. Rabbi Chaim Elimelech Ben Reb Michael Segal Appel – known as the Illui of Asnik and Novitnitz, disciple of HaGaon Rabbi Mordechai Winkler, author of Levushai Mordechai of Mad. Rav and head of the Yeshiva in Sarvash alongside Rabbi Ben Tzion Blum HY”D. In 1942 he was deported with his wife and five children to the Kolomyia camp, where they were murdered Al Kiddush Hashem.
