Pedigreed copy. 31; 32–33; [2] leaves. Title page lacking. Leaves 32–33 were lacking and completed in manuscript. At the end was added a handwritten copy from the responsa of HaGaon Rabbi Akiva Eiger. On the first leaf appear the signatures of Rabbi “Chaim Aryeh Kahana” and Rabbi “Pinchas Naftali Briz”l.” Rabbi Pinchas Naftali Yerushalmi-Schwartz (1828–1885) — son of HaGaon HaTzaddik Rabbi Yitzchak Itzik, Raavad of Gombin. After being orphaned from his father, he lived in Sanz and was a disciple of Harav HaKadosh Rabbi Chaim, author of “Divrei Chaim.” From 1840, he studied in the Yeshiva in Diarmat under HaGaon the “Imrei Esh, ” Av Beis Din of Ungvar, and from 1846 studied in the Yeshiva in Chust under his son HaGaon Rabbi Menachem Esh, Av Beis Din of Ungvar. He earned his livelihood from writing Sta”m in the Chust community, and was the copyist and proofreader of the responsa “Imrei Esh” and the responsa “Maharam Schick, ” and author of the Sefer “Nefesh Tovah” on the Torah (Sighet, 1889). Rabbi Chaim Aryeh ben Yechiel Tzvi HaKohen (1830–1917) — Dayan of the Sighet community, author of the Sefer “Divrei Geonim.” Descendant of the renowned rabbinic Kahana-Heller family of Marmaros. Disciple of the author of the “Yitav Lev” of Sighet. Without binding, without title page. Final [2] leaves lacking and completed in manuscript. Damaged spine — gatherings detached, stains and worming, damaged corners. Fair condition.
