Manuscript, three large pages, a Halachic responsum on matters of Even Haezer in His Holy Handwriting of the renowned Gaon, Rabbi Avraham Tiktin, Av Beis Din of Glogau, author of “Pesach HaBayis” – Glogau, Menachem Av 1804 – Never printed! At the end of the responsum it is written: “I wrote today, Thursday, 11 Menachem [Av] 1804, here in great Glogau.” The renowned Gaon Rabbi Avraham Tiktin (1724–1820) served as Av Beis Din in several cities in Germany: Schwerin, Lentschitz, Glogau, and at the end of his days served as Rav of Breslau. He was very close with the Gedolei Yisrael of his generation Rabbi Akiva Eiger and the “Nesivos, ” who greatly valued him and held his judgment and rulings in the highest esteem. Rabbi Akiva Eiger writes about him in one of his responsa (Hachadashot, Siman 94): “And that which has emerged here from a holy mouth, beloved as my soul, the true Gaon, leader of Israel and its glory, Av Beis Din of the holy community of Glogau, Rabbi Avraham, has properly reached me; and although writing is difficult for me, nevertheless I desired to fulfill the will of the righteous, since the above-mentioned Gaon, in his great humility amidst his greatness, made his ruling dependent upon whether I, in my lowly and weak understanding, would agree to his broad and great understanding… Your Honor should forgive me to send my words to my beloved the Gaavad of Glogau, and he will express his great, broad, and sea-deep understanding, and you shall heed his voice!” And the author of the “Nesivos” writes in his eulogy for him in his Sefer “Nachalas Yaakov”: “A man of God, the true Gaon, a wonder of the generation, Rabbi Avraham Tiktin z”l, Av Beis Din of the holy community of Breslau and the region.” [2] leaves (3 written pages). 33 cm.
