The Hadran begins from the Sugya in Tractate Niddah 72b, regarding the dispute between Rabbi Yochanan and Reish Lakish whether “Halachah” or “Halachos, ” and concludes with the Maamar “ Kol HaShoneh Halachos. ” The renowned Gaon Rabbi Chaim Berlin (1832–1912) — eldest son of the Netziv of Volozhin, great-grandson of Rabbi Chaim of Volozhin, Rav of the distinguished cities of Volozhin, Moscow, and Jerusalem, head of the Volozhin Yeshiva for a certain period, and among the greatest Rabbanim of his generation.
