In this postcard, the author discusses three subjects: 1. Contradictions between the rulings of the Baal HaTanya in Shulchan Aruch HaRav and his rulings in the Siddur. 2. The need for further time and study to clarify the prohibition of using electricity on Shabbos. 3. The year 1951 was a Shemitah year. Rabbi Naeh published a Halachic column in the newspaper HaModia, in which he addressed practical laws of Shevi’is. He was pleased to hear that the Chazon Ish had expressed approval of his writings, remarking, “Ganz gut” (“quite good”). These articles were later collected in the Sefer He’aros L'Maaseh B'Inyanei Shemitah (Jerusalem, 2000). HaGaon Rabbi Avraham Chaim Naeh (1890–1954) — Rav, Dayan, and Posek; author of important Halachic works and renowned for his system of Halachic measurements (Shiurim). He was among the leaders of Kollel Chabad and among the founders of Yeshivas Toras Emes, served as Safra DeDayana of the Beis Din Tzedek of the Eidah HaChareidis, was among the leaders of the Agudas Yisrael Beis Din Tzedek, served as Rav in Samarkand (Uzbekistan), Rav and Rosh Yeshiva in Egypt, and Rav of the Bukharian Quarter in Jerusalem. HaGaon Rabbi Dovid Tzvi Hillman (1926–2010) — an exceptionally gifted scholar from a Chabad family and among the earliest students of Ponevezh Yeshiva in Bnei Brak. A close friend of Rabbi Avraham Chaim Naeh, he authored Igros Baal HaTanya U'Vnei Doro, served as an editor of the Encyclopedia Talmudit, and published critical editions of the works of the Rishonim.
