Jerusalem, 1939. “We demand that the allocation formula be corrected, as well as the overall number of recipients of assistance… for the emergency enterprise must rise above all discrimination among the Eretz-Yisrael public.” Letter of thanks and grievance from heads of Yeshivos and Torah institutions in Jerusalem to “Keheles, ” the central organization of Torah institutions in Eretz Yisrael, expressing gratitude for the support they received, while protesting that Torah institutions and Rabbanim were discriminated against in comparison to the support granted to beneficiaries of other organizations.
