HaGaon HaAdir Rabbi Zelig Reuven Bengis (1864–1953) — Gaavad of the Eidah HaChareidis in Jerusalem and one of the Gedolei Yisrael of his generation. At a young age, he began studying at the Volozhin Yeshiva, where he became close to his Rebbe, the Netziv, who referred to him as a “living Shas.” Rabbi Zelig Reuven received Rabbinic ordination from the leading sages of his generation: his Rebbe, the Netziv, HaGaon Rabbi Yitzchak Elchanan Spektor, and HaGaon Rabbi Shlomo HaKohen of Vilna, author of Cheshek Shlomo. He served as Rav of several distinguished communities. In 1938, he ascended to Eretz Yisrael and was appointed Raavad of the Eidah HaChareidis in Jerusalem. He left a rich legacy in his series of Sefarim, Leflagos Reuven. Rabbi Yitzchak Zev ben Shechna David Frandzel (passed away in 1942) — served as Rav in the town of Liubavas, Lithuania. He immigrated to Eretz Yisrael with his family in the mid-1930s, settled in the Nachalat Yitzchak neighborhood of Tel Aviv, and served as a synagogue Rav.
