In the letter, Rabbi Akiva Yosef Schlesinger is asked to pray at the holy sites for health and healing of body and soul, for a good livelihood, good fortune, suitable matches, and peace in the home. Rabbi Yisrael ben Rabbi Yitzchak Simcha Berger, Av Beis Din of Bucharest (1855–1919) — son-in-law of Harav HaKadosh Rabbi Menachem Mendel Hager of Zabolotiv, and disciple of Harav HaKadosh Rabbi Yitzchak Eizik of Zidichov and Harav HaKadosh author of Yitav Lev. He received rabbinic ordination from Harav HaKadosh, author of Divrei Chaim, and from Harav HaKadosh Rabbi Menachem Mendel Pant of Deyzh. He served in the rabbinate of Probizhna in Galicia, Dorna Vatra in Romania, Buzău, Piatra Neamț, and Bucharest. He edited and authored well-known Chassidic works, including Atteres Yaakov V'Yisrael, Ein Yisrael, Ratzon Yisrael on Tehillim, Ratzon Yisrael on Shabbos, Milah and Tefillin, Yalkut Yisrael, and the four volumes of Zechus Yisrael, each containing the biographies and teachings of ten Tzaddikim. The renowned Gaon HaKadosh Rabbi Akiva Yosef Schlesinger, author of Lev Ha'Ivri (1837–1922) — disciple of his father Rabbi Yechiel, a disciple of Maran the Chasam Sofer, and disciple of the Ksav Sofer, Maharam Schick, and Machaneh Chaim. Son-in-law of HaGaon HaKadosh Rabbi Hillel Lichtenstein of Kolomyia. A fearless fighter in the battles of Hashem. He immigrated to Eretz Yisrael and worked for its settlement in accordance with the principles of Torah.
